As I write this, I can smell these
now roasting inside a chicken, all nestled
within the dutch oven. With balsamic vinegar
poured over it and big chunks of garlic shoved
here and there.... the odor is swirling through the
house like a gypsy dancer. Slowly it begins... then
builds to a crashing glory as the oven is opened
and the lid removed. There is not a word spoken
as the golden treasure is revealed......
Dad: "Today, I am making STUFF"
Kid: "Really? ..... MOM! Dad is making STUFF again!"
Mom: "Tell him not to ruin the pan!"
'Stuff' is a Dad code word for 'Experiment'.
Stuff usually turns out good, but it's never too predictable.
Today, stuff turned out to be:
A bed of golden hash browns with fresh ground pepper, upon which has been spooned BBQ beef salsa chili with bacon and red kidney beans.
I got a small plate full.
There is none left.
I guess stuff worked out Ok again.
