Walking alone by the pond... the morning dew heavy
on the grass.... the ground is hazy. Looking down I see
myriad spider webs, none larger than my thumb. Thousands, as
far as I can see.... silent testament to the life passing by
beneath and around us.
Too small to be noticed, not regarded as worthy, yet there
each morning in stubborn willingness to live.
So many people live lives not much larger than these spiders.
Lost in the shuffle underfoot, but still fighting on with hard nosed
abandon.
