I cut this one a day or so again. Ruby/Zoite in layers.
The ruby is a SOB to work, as it's just a step short of diamond
in hardness. I never get these shaped or polished as I like, but
Shirley and Al seem happy with them..... they cooed over this and
said it would sell for about $150........
Looking forward to a mostly relaxing evening, except I need footwear.
My two year old boots, the only thing I have in footwear save callouses,
are giving up the ghost. They are just plain worn out.
That means chance the dry goods store in a nearby town, or do the
hour and a half in traffic to Cabelas.
Why only those choices you ask? I have flippers where normal people
have feet. A 14EE is slightly snug on me....... a 15 fits better depending on what
province of China it was made in.
Shopping..... SHOE shopping........ SHUDDER.

Maybe instead of shoes you should be looking for pontoons! ::ducks and runs for cover::
On the flip side, you know what they say about men with big feet...
...they need big shoes...::ducks and runs away again::
Happy 4th of July!
Is the stone cutting becoming a second career? Cuz if'n it ain't, it should be!
They're all so beautiful...truly.
Thanks Jean....
Nope, not making a penny at it. Wasn't really looking to, just enjoying learning how to do it.
I will probably expand a bit, and try my hand at making stone and silver jewelry.
Don't go to Cabela's (or if you do, let me know -- cranky Dad lives fifteen minutes from there).
Come down to my neck of the woods. There's a really excellent boot store in the Wedgewood shopping center, on Business 30. (It doesn't even have a name -- just a big sign that says, "BOOTS.") Right next door to a nice leather goods store and a really nice gun store.
THREE IN ONE!
