I'm not really going to blog about this weekend.... Just to say I wouldn't trade a moment of it for a year added to my life.
Now, here is something I will blog about......
While driving along... minding my own business.... out of the blue... comes a sign for the Air Force museum at Wright Patterson AFB. Just a few exits up, but already drawing me like it had it's own gravity well. Most surprising... the highway didn't actually curve around and go straight to the museum, and other drivers somehow managed to make it past that exit without turning...... utter insanity perhaps?
I didn't suffer from such insanity.... and found my way to the site.
Oh MY! (insert the word 'Wow' here in fifty eight languages including Martian)
Friends and neighbors... I only spent an hour there. Just enough to stretch my legs and take a few hundred photos. There will come a time... probably before the summer is gone... when I go back and spend at least a day there. Maybe two. With luck.... I will have my best friend with me to point out all I miss.
This museum, if you are a fan of military aircraft.... is jaw dropping amazing.
Go... just...... go.

I went one time during air show season 10 years ago, and had too little time as well. Definately need to go back. I want to make a trek to the Smithsonian one of these days as well.

I've been to the Smithsonian Air & Space twice, Oshkosh twice, Huntsville once, KSC a few times. Wright-Patterson, and the helo museum at FtRucker are DEFINITELY on the to-do list.
