There is a certain freedom......
Since I discovered 'blogworld' a while back, there are a
number of writers I follow on a regular basis. They are
entertaining, interesting, and just generally smart people
who share their lives well.
(You'll find most of these folks over there on the left side,
in the blog rolls. Try them out, if you already haven't.
They are worth your time.)
When I first started blogging, it was mostly as an outlet for
some shooting related writing I like doing. Nothing
fantastic, but after ten or fifteen thousand page views on another
site I figured I'd like to have a place of my own.
Thus was born Carteach0.
On the Carteach0 blog I post short articles on shooting,
hand loading, military surplus, assorted firearms, and other
related good stuff. I try to include decent photographs that
help others share my joy on these topics.
When I began blogging with Carteach0, I quickly realized
that my various opinions had no real place on that blog, and it
was a much better read if I kept on topic.
That left an upwelling load of opinion and 'snark' with no
place to land, leading to this blog: Mal-Fits.
Here I can expound on any topic and thought that catches
my interest and attention. It's fun, and healthy, to work
through some of these things and just generally share with the
world. I thoroughly enjoy having this blog!
That said, when I read so many other folks efforts on a daily
basis I can't help but notice.......
So many times they seem to be stressing over getting up a post.
Get something up every day, to feed the interest of all the folks who
come visit every day. It's a cycle..... post every day, get read
every day, so post every day to please those who read every day.....
Frankly, I have looked at 'My readership', which is limited
to a few friends and a few people who stop in by accident.
In other words..... I am almost that proverbial tree falling
in the forest with almost no ears to hear it fall.
Friends and neighbors, I have to admit.... there is a certain
feeling of freedom to posting mostly to please myself, with no one
else expecting anything of value. I look at my last post of a few days
ago, and it's Ok with me that it is a few days ago!
I might just take the site meter off this blog. It's fun to see who's
stopping in, but maybe it would be less fun if more folks eventually
join them.
I like freedom......

I post when something bubbles forth from the well deep inside. Sometimes, like the last few months, when I did the huge upheavel of leaving all my friends and the house I loved to move hundreds of miles away to a new house. . and sort of a promotion, with new responsibilities. . it was an outlet for the stress, and I posted daily.
We all have our own speed, some days we are the Piper Cub perusing each and every cloud like someone visiting an art gallery. Some days we are a flash of life against the landscape of the world, moving past us at Mach .8
However we visit, however we post. . if no one reads it but our own soul. . then we are still the better for leaving that little contrail.
Ayup.
Naturally, you understand.
Good for you, yet I'll still stop in daily, heck, I just found you.
