A quiet morning

Yes, a quiet morning. A cup of coffee, a book full of amusing and inviting words....

It's so easy to pull the whole world down to a small place, hardly larger than
the chair, the book, and only a few feet around it. Nothing intruding but the tick
of the clock and daylight trickling in from an outside world.

Yet... enfolded into my small comfortable world... my eyes keep drifting to the screen on the computer. Set to show an E-mail account. I keep glancing at it... hoping for one small intrusion into my peaceful world. Like a link through the wall of my quiet bubble, an opening left for only one purpose. An avenue for a message, the one that I most want to see.

I think it's time to burst the bubble, put my boots on, and venture into the world
for a while. Perhaps a stop at the grocery store, and a cup of really good coffee. When my world shrinks to an empty computer screen, it's time to punch it back into shape again.

I would view my world, but it's blocked by the 16 inch stack of flash cards of memory items for the upcoming aircraft currency check.

When the alarm went off this morning, I almost called out. .

"Cancel the bell! Power Lever Flight Idle, Start Stop Lever - Stop. . Engine fire hand. . PULL. . do not ROTATE!"

I'm looking forward to it though.

Yeah, it's too easy to get in that mode. It's then that I force myself to realize there's a world of other things to do. Some fun, some necessary, but all there for the doing.
