Why 'A New Direction' ?
I changed the name of this blog to reflect the changes in my life. I've given it a good shaking out (my life that is) and beaten the dust off. In doing so I've discovered that life is worth living again, and I intend to do so!
With the change in my life, comes a change in this blog. Once named 'Mal-Fits', meaning it was built of the small bits that didn't fit anyplace else, it's now going to follow my journey through life.
This blog has also gone private. I've decided I wish more freedom in what I say.... and more say in who shares it. Thus, 'the tribe' as Phlegm so well titled them, are welcome. I'm actually enjoying writing these things.... Most don't get posted.... actually, most get symbolically burned with the push of a delete button... Then their ashes buried, with a steak through them.
Speaking of steak..... I'm getting hungry for a decent meal.... have to stop on the way home and shop a bit.... Steak and mushrooms.... HMmmmmm....

When the mushrooms are sauted just so, browned in butter and beef drippings.... and the steak is meadium rare, heat seared and carmalized.....
You cannot resist young one... give in to the steak and mushrooms!

They either work, of they don't.
I like taking pictures. "capturing images". Now in digital, long ago in 35mm and 220 formats. Film photography is not cheap, but I sold enough to pay for the hobby. A serious hobbyist I guess you might say.
Along that trip, I got some advice from a pretty decent commercial photographer.
He said "The key to building a good portfolio is to edit ruthlessly"
When I write, it just seems to flow out. Yes, I can sit on it and tweak later, if the foundation is good. Sometimes, the basics are rotten and the only 'tweaks' that work are matches and gasoline.
Still, I learn from each, and good writers like you.
honestly, your food porn is getting a little...obscene. It almost makes me blush.
