This afternoon, on the way home, I had the urge for a steak. It's been a while since I had a simple, honest, steak. I've earned a steak. I can afford a steak. I know how to cook a steak properly.

If I get drool on my brand new keyboard it will be all your fault. Today was a LaGuardia airport scone (though it might have been a wheel chock) and a cheese danish that didn't survive the trip home from the grocery store tonight.

Bob... I cooked two... one for a friend, and one for me.
His was perfect, mine slightly less than perfect as it sizzled in the cast iron while I went for the camera. Mine was pink in the middle, closer to medium rare than rare.
Still pretty darn good.
